Meeting with Marco Cavallarin and Patrizia Ottolenghi, organised by ADEI WIZO Bologna and the Associazione Figli della Shoah
The History: In 1945 eight hundred Jewish children, orphaned by the Shoah, survivors themselves of the Nazi camps of Eastern Europe, in disastrous physical and mental conditions, were welcomed and brought back to life, play and study by a group of soldiers from the Jewish Brigade in Selvino (BG) in the former fascist colony called Sciesopoli where the children of fascism were indoctrinated in racism and bellicosity. An irony of fate that tells of the pain, but also the welcome reserved for the Children of Selvino by the population of Selvino, the solidarity of the Italian anti-fascist world, and the assistance provided by national and international organisations of the Jewish world. The Memory: A forgotten history that is progressively being recovered and restored to the conscience of humanity. Since 2012 Marco Cavallarin and Patrizia Ottolenghi have been committed to the recovery and dissemination of that Memory and today, to the creation of the Sciesopoli Ebraica Memorial Museum (1945-1948).
