Rosh Chodesh Iyar is the month in which, according to Jewish tradition, only good things happen.
The very name of the month already indicates something very good
אייר which, according to the Masters of Kabbalah, is composed of letters that are the initials of a phrase from the Torah:
Ani. I am
Hashem. The Lord
Rofekha. Your healer
On the 5th of this month falls a modern holiday, yet one of the utmost importance for the people of Israel: Yom HaAtzmaut. Finally, also in this month falls Lag BaOmer – the thirty-third day of the Omer – in which the end of the plague that killed thousands of Rabbi Akiva's disciples is celebrated, and in the following days the light shone once again among Torah scholars.
Let us pray that the Lord G-d may cause us to rejoice in seeing the end of the plague of this dark period, which has struck all human beings, and bring healing, peace and serenity among us.
